In order to allow flexibility and fairness, paid classes can be taken at anytime without being constrained to weekly or monthly commitments. This works well for people with busy schedules, work or travel plans.
Participants also have the option of signing up for "unlimited" classes, which allows them to attend all classes in a given month, thus saving $15 00 or $20.00 over the 8 class packet @ $40.00, used over the same time period.
Payment is made directly to the YMCA and there are no initiation or other membership fees. In other words, you do not have to be a YMCA member to participate in the Enshin Karate program. However, if you are not a YMCA member, there is an annual YMCA Program Membership, payable to the Y, at sign up, of $15.00. This is a yearly fee and paid only once per year.
Fees are: Packet of 8 classes $40.00 (adult and youth) - OR - $5.00 per class
OR: Unlimited, meaning all classes in a given month (average of 12) may be taken for a monthly fee of $45.00
Note: First class taken is always free as an introductory "test drive" before committing to purchase prepaid classes.
Promotion tests, for belt ranks below the black belt level, are administered in April, August and December only. A nominal fee is paid directly to the instructor and upon successful completion, includes a certificate and the belt attained.
Black Belt tests are by invitation only and scheduled at the instructor's discretion. Included in the fees for black belt testing are an embroidered black belt and a certificate of achievement issued by Honbu (Enshin International Headquarters.)
